Social media management: Grow package

Build an engaged online community by showcasing monthly campaigns, new releases, store events, exclusive promotions, and the personalities of the Littleton team, turning social media into an extension of the in store experience.

Goal

Managing social media for the Barnes & Noble store in Littleton, Colorado meant balancing national campaigns with local personality. Each month began by reviewing upcoming book releases, company campaigns, store events, and promotions to identify opportunities for content. From there, I looked for social trends, memes, and audio that could be adapted in a way that felt authentic to the Barnes & Noble brand while still resonating with our local audience.

Once ideas were finalized, I handled the creative process from start to finish by capturing and editing photos and videos, designing graphics, writing captions, and scheduling content across platforms. I also worked closely with store employees, encouraging them to appear in videos, share book recommendations, and participate in trending content. Giving the staff creative freedom helped make the account feel more personal, strengthened the community around the store, and turned employees into recognizable faces that customers looked forward to seeing online.

Beyond publishing content, I actively engaged with readers by responding to comments, highlighting community events, and sharing user generated content whenever possible.

Process

In four months, I increased impressions by 229%, engagement by 357%, followers by 4.2%, and post volume by 13%, while maintaining an average engagement rate of 2.6%.
